ABAC 6.3.4.2 -- Disclosure of Intellectual Property
For circumstances meeting the criteria in Section 6.3.3 of policy of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, faculty, staff, and students must promptly report to the Intellectual Property Committee in writing, through the appropriate channels, all Intellectual Property invented or created by them that is reasonably likely to have commercial value.
The Intellectual Property Committee will review and investigate the information submitted by the claimant and recommend to the President or his/her designee the rights and equities in intellectual property created by faculty, staff, or students of the institution through the materials in question. The Committee will conduct its deliberations in accordance with Section 6.3, Intellectual Properties, of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents Policy and comply with all definitions and guidelines found therein.
ABAC’s policies provide for an appeal procedure within the institution in the event of a disagreement as to the ownership and use of such materials.
